Understanding Impact's Challenge Life Cycle
Impact's Challenge lifecycle phases are investigation & orientation, navigation & implementation, support/stabilize, and sunset, debrief & restorative. Understanding this life cycle from end-to-end is crucial for managing both everyday events and significant moments proactively. Our tools guide you as a participant, help you manage information, and ensure the detail fits into the big picture of your goals.
Starting: Investigation
- Identify and define your challenge clearly using our Challenge Intake Survey
- Gather all relevant information, resources, and perspectives to fill in gaps from survey results
- Assess the challenge's impact zone: participants (including you), information flow, and the challenge itself.
Navigating and Implementation of Your Challenge
- Leverage proactive tools to minimize disruption. Recommendations from Intake Survey &/or Navigation & Implementation Survey (included in Navigation & Implementation Packages)
- Stay adaptable as you implement solutions. Understand needs to feed support & stabilizing, revising to fit desired state as needed.
- Seek support and guidance from our consulting and mentoring services when you need it. Sometimes something is easier one day than the other, our articles and community in the help center are a great place to self-serve.
Sunsetting: As needed during & After
- Cycles start and end. Often the first part of the cycle is managed, and the rest is left "unmanaged" at the "end". The end is defined by the user; the end of cycles is referred to Sunset or Sunsetting in our programs. The end of challenges in our program is after the debrief & restorative phase.
- Identify areas that have processes, resources, or engagement that begins and ends. Track these areas and sunset the outcomes. If other areas are needed to backfill the end make sure, add to activities to fill gaps.
- Track sunsetting activities in your Captain's Log and ensure resources are aware of the end game. What does it need to look like after the challenge is over? These answers are collected throughout the program.
Debrief, Restorative, & Next Steps
- Debrief to extract learning and growth from the challenge. Pull forward what works and leave what isn't beneficial.
- Identify actionable next steps for continued improvement. Adopt and integrate areas that worked for future challenges.
- Practice to restore balance and resilience.
